Happy New Year, friends! Can you believe it is already 2020? We are in a brand new year and a brand new decade… wow! What a whirlwind 2019 has been with lots of ups and downs and many miracles in between. Our family has received an outpouring of love and support regarding my Dad’s passing. We are grateful for all the prayers that have been offered on our behalf. We have felt the influence of angels helping to bear us up. We are being blessed tremendously in spiritual strength. Thank you so much for your kindness.
I have been thinking a lot lately about what my motto or phrase for this near year would be. On Christmas Eve, I came across an Instagram post by President Russell M. Nelson that said:
“…I urge you to seek this Jesus. He truly is the Prince of Peace. I invite you to draw closer to Him and experience the joy that envelops all who are willing to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.”
When I read those words they went straight to my heart and I knew that would be my focus for the year: Seek This Jesus. I decided to put this up on our felt letter board in our kitchen where we would see it every day.
“And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever. Amen.” – Ether 12:41
No matter our trials, no matter our circumstances, no matter our weaknesses or needs, Jesus Christ has all comprehension and compassion. I know that by seeking we shall find. He wants us to let Him in, to be part of our lives, to help us bear up our burdens with ease. We are not alone. I know that now. I have felt it with a surety. His grace is sufficient to lift us, to heal us, and to sustain us. He is mindful of you in this very moment. We never have been and never will be forgotten or alone because of Him. What a comfort it is to know He is always there.
Warmest wishes to you for a blessed and Happy New Year, full of the peace the Savior brings!
Love & Light,
